New Waveny House Fees Being Debated

NEW CANAAN, CT—A Parks and Recreation Commission subcommittee will work on potential new fees for the Waveny House use.

Currently the historic site can be rented for wedding, bar mitzvahs and other events. The cost is $1,500 for residents and $2,650 for non-residents for 10 hours of use on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Commission Chairwoman Sally Campbell told the New Canaanite that almost everyone who tours the house decides to rent it because its the cheapest venue in the area. It could potentially be monetized better.
