A New Canaan woman was charged with assault after a dispute turned physical, according to police.
Officers responded to an Avalon Drive residence the night on Jan. 19. There was an incident between two individuals.
Police conducted an investigation and charged Heather Thompson, 47, of New Canaan with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. She was released at the scene on a misdemeanor summons and given a court date of Jan. 20.
