Officer Confiscates Fake License, Alcohol from New Canaan Minor: Police

The 20-year-old allegedly had alcohol and a fake license in his vehicle.

A 20-year-old New Canaan man was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of alcohol and a fake license, according to police.

Police stopped a vehicle on June 5 around 9:20 p.m. on Lockwood Avenue near Bank Street. The vehicle was stopped due to a defective rear market light.

The officer noticed bags in the back seat that contained alcohol, according to police.

Craig Puffer, 20 of Jelliff Mill Road originally told police that the alcohol belonged to his parents, but then admitted that a friend bought it for him, according to police.

Police also confiscated a fake license that had his age at 22-years-old.

He was charged with third-degree forgery and possession of alcohol by a minor.
