New Canaan Police Issue Infraction After Finding Car Emitting Smoke, Smelling of Marijuana

Police charged a man with possessing marijuana after stopping him for speeding.

NEW CANAAN, CT - Police said they found a car emitting smoke and smelling of marijuana after a vehicle stop Monday.

Officers noticed the vehicle speeding in the area of Smith Ridge Road at high rate of speed. After stopping the vehicle, officers noticed smoke emitting from the car and detected the smell of marijuana.

A subsequent investigation resulted in an infraction for the suspect Nils Anderson, 23, of Spring Water Lane. He was charged with speeding, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
