Police: New Canaan Woman Arrested After Altercation
A dog allegedly attacked a person during the fight.

Two women were arrested after an altercation that involved a dog injuring a person, according to police.
Heidi Lueders, 28, of New Canaan and Melanie Numa, 19, 0f Norwalk were arrested after they reported being assaulted and robbed by two people in New Canaan on August 7, police said.
Police investigated and found that allegedly wasn’t the case and they were the aggressors.

The two women went to a Winfield Lane address to collect $100 owed to Numa by a woman, police said. The two began banging on a door.
The victim’s boyfriend gave the two women money, but the argument continued, police said. Numa allegedly attacked the female victim and the boyfriend came to her defense. Lueders then became involved and allegedly began choking the boyfriend.

Lueders allegedly went and got King, a 70-pound dog from a vehicle and the dog attacked the female, police said.
Lueders said in an interview that the dog jumped out of the car himself and that he is not an aggressive dog. She also said she was not the aggressor in the incident and that she didn’t report being robbed.
King attacked the victim’s leg, police said. Skin was broken in one spot and there were three other red abrasion marks, police said.
Numa was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Lueders was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment.
