Pot Found After Cops Stop 'Suspicious Vehicle' In New Canaan

The incident occurred Tuesday night near Cedar Lane.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Two Norwalk men were cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia late Tuesday following a motor vehicle stop in New Canaan on Braeburn Drive near Cedar Lane, according to police.

The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. after an officer saw a vehicle driving very slowly on Cedar Lane. The vehicle "matched a description of a suspicious vehicle that was called in earlier [in the] evening on Beacon Hill Road."

"The officer conducted a [motor vehicle stop] to investigate the actions of the occupants of the vehicle and upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with [Christopher] Iannacone (the operator) and [Peter] O'Connor (passenger), the officer detected the odor of marijuana," wrote New Canaan police in a statement.

The department did not disclose how much marijuana was discovered, nor what drug paraphernalia was found. Both Iannacone, 21, of Visconti Street, and O'Connor, also 21, of East Purdy Road, were issued infractions.
