'Pressured' New Canaan Finance Board Approves Additional School Sports Money: Report
The money is slated for work at the high school and Waveny Park.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Not happy that they were not informed of the need for more funds prior to shovels going into the ground, the New Canaan Board of Finance Tuesday nevertheless approved an $800,000 allocation for sports field improvements at the high school and Waveny Park.
The New Canaan Advertiser reports that while the allocation was unanimously approved, board members questioned why they were not told of the pending request which was known to some officials in June.
Among the improvements are new artificial turf and lights at the Water Tower Field and reconstruction of the track and the addition of some new lighting at the high school.
