New Canaan, CT – Prizio Roofing & Siding Co., Inc. is very proud to donate a new roof to A Better Chance of New Canaan (ABC House) and the roof makeover is now complete! The local roofing company was busy the past week installing the new roof and the crew of eight New Canaan High School students enrolled in the program now have a new roof over their heads. The morning sun was shining and the crew was hard at work tearing off the old roofing shingles, cleaning the gutters and installing a brand, new roof on the house. The ABC House has been a pillar in the town of New Canaan for 46 years and Prizio Roofing is happy to support this wonderful organization.

Prizio Roofing & Siding Co. teamed up with the ABC House as a way to give back to the New Canaan community that has brought them success for more than 50 years. Owner Jonathan Prizio had this to say, “We are very proud to support the ABC House and provide the students with a new roof over their heads. Our family had the opportunity to meet the scholars and these young men are going places. The New Canaan community means so much to us, and the roof donation is our way of paying it forward. ABC House relies 100% on donations and we couldn’t be happier to give them a helping hand.”

Susan Donnelly, President of the ABC House of New Canaan, along with the other Board of Directors are extremely grateful to Jonathan Prizio for his incredibly generous gift. Donnelly said, “Jonathan came to fix a leak in the roof of our 100-plus year old home. He noticed that our entire roof was in need of replacement, and offered to donate a new roof to our home! Jonathan is a NCHS graduate (class of 2000), and was friends with some of the guys in the program back then, and also good friends with a host family. He believes in the program and the opportunities it opens up to each scholar. We are beyond excited he has offered us a new roof for our home. Thank you to Jonathan and everyone at Prizio Roofing!”

The owner of Prizio Roofing, Jonathan Prizio, grew up in New Canaan and two other New Canaan High School alums joined in to help out with this give back – Lorenzo Colella of Joe’s Pizza and Mike Maloney of MDM Sanitation. Joe’s Pizza donated pizzas to the ABC House scholars for a celebration dinner and MDM Sanitation donated dumpster and sanitation services during the roofing project.

Thinking beyond themselves is important to Prizio Roofing, which is a family-owned, New Canaan based business started by Jonathan’s father John Prizio in 1968. The ABC House roof donation is the company’s second charitable roof donation in recent years. Two years ago, they donated a new roof to a local Stamford family who had fallen on hard times through the No Roof Left Behind program. Charitable giving has always been close to this company’s heart and they hope to instill the values of giving back in their young son John Prizio (19 months). Beyond roof donations, the company donates their time and resources to local organizations throughout the year including Inspirica, the Young Women’s League of New Canaan and the Fairfield County Food Bank.
