Public Meeting Set For New Canaan's Route 123 Bridge Renovations
The state is planning to replace the bridge, which spans Rose Brook.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A public informational meeting is set for Jan. 17 for discussion of the state Department of Transportation's plan to replace the Route 123 Bridge over Rose Brook in New Canaan, announced New Canaan state Sen. L. Scott Frantz (R-36th). The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Board Room of New Canaan Town Hall, but in the case of inclement weather on the 17th, the meeting will be rescheduled to Feb. 21.
"The public information meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this proposed project," wrote Frantz in a statement. "There are right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements. It is anticipated that two temporary construction easements will be necessary. Construction is expected to start in the Spring of 2019."
The project's proposed plans will be on display at the meeting for public review, and DOT staff also will be on hand on the 17th to discuss the work.
