P&Z Commissioner Defends His Glass House Application Opinion
At least one person said he should recuse himself from the vote because he is a neighbor.

NEW CANAAN, CT- Planning and Zoning Commission member Dick Ward defended himself after a resident called for him to recuse himself from a vote on the expansion of operations at the Philip Johnson Glass House because he is a neighbor.
Ward said he never discussed the matter with neighbors and that he has never been affected by activities as the Glass House, according to the New Canaanite.
He opposes the proposal to allow the Glass House to add two special corporate tours a year that would allow a maximum of 150 people, a maximum of 400 people for the single annual fundraiser instead of 250 and one night tour per month instead of a twilight tour.

Ward said he was worried about "institutional creep" that would allow an organization to gradually expand operation in a residential area.
