Update: More Than a Dozen Vehicle Break-Ins Reported in New Canaan
Police are investigating the cases and urging residents to lock vehicles.

Police are urging residents not to leave valuables or keys inside vehicles after a surge in vehicle break-ins overnight.
The following reports were made on July 8 between 6:50 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. of vehicle break-ins:
River Street – 7 complainants

Four Winds Lane – 1 complainant
Brinckerhoff Avenue – 2 complainants

Mortimer Street – 2 complainants
New Norwalk Road – 1 complainant
The vehicles in most if not all of the cases were left unlocked. There may be more than one vehicle entered per complaint.
A Range Rover with the keys inside the vehicle was stolen on Ponus Ridge Road.
It is unknown what property if any had been stolen at this time, according to police.
Police urge residents to report suspicious persons or vehicles seen by calling them at 203-594-3500.
