Residents Seek to Reduce Speed Limit on Silvermine Road

NEW CANAAN, CT—Residents are pushing for a mile stretch of Silvermine Road to have its speed limit reduced from 30 mph to 25 mph.

The topic was brought up at a recent Police Commission meeting, according to the New Canaanite. Some residents also want the road to have a single yellow line instead of a double yellow line.

The Department of Public Works thinking was that a double yellow line would reduce motorist speeds because it gives the feeling that the road is more narrow.
