NEW CANAAN, CT—The Roger Sherman Inn will close on Jan. 1, 2017, according to the owners.
The property sale announcement was released in July and the current plan is to put seven single-family homes on the 1.7 acre property, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.
Some residents have come forward to oppose the plan. At least part of the historic structure would be razed. Some of the structure dates back to 1740.
