Political Flyers on Windshields in New Canaan Possibly Violation of Town Code

The flyers contain suggestions on how to vote on charter revision questions.

NEW CANAAN, CT—Police were dispatched to the Elm Street and Talmadge Hill train station parking lots last night after reports came in of flyers on windshields.

Flyers were located, but the offenders weren't, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, police spokesman.

The flyers contain suggestions to sway voters on charter revision questions, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

The top line of the flyer says, "The New Canaan Republican Town Committee position on the Five Charter Questions and the Truth in the meaning."

Leaving flyers on motor vehicles is a violation of a town ordinance.
