Skateboarders Blamed for Damage
A New Canaan property owner believes skateboarders are responsible for $2,000 in damage to a brick and stone staircase. Police responded to a Cherry Street business on Oct. 5 on a report of vandalism.
The owner told police he believes skateboarders damaged the staircase, which will cost $2,000 to fix between parts and labor. There is no video surveillance of the area and police continue to investigate.

Man Believes Roommate Withdrew Money
A New Canaan man believes that his roommate who up and left stole $40 using his debit card.

The 25-year-old victim reported on Oct. 1 that a $40 withdrawal was made using his debit card.
His 25-year-old female roommate had recently disappeared from the residence along with all of her belongings and said he believes she is the suspect, police said.
Police continue to investigate.
Resident Loses Thousands to Car Burglary
A Carter Street resident had more than $1,000 worth of items and cash taken in a motor vehicle burglary.
The woman parked her car Oct. 2 in the driveway. She went looking for her cell phone the next morning and noticed her purse and other items weren’t in her unlocked vehicle.
An iPhone, iPad, $150 in cash, $120 running shoes and numerous credit cards were taken. There were some fraudulent charges on an ATM card as well, police said.
Police continue to investigate.
