St. Luke’s School: No Cell Tower Plans
Head of School Mark Davis responds to reports of a cell tower on campus

St. Luke’s contacted its families in response to a recent op-ed piece on local news sites. The op-ed letter, written by a St. Luke’s neighbor who is planning to install a cell tower on his private property, repeatedly suggests that St. Luke’s was interested in installing a cell tower on its campus.
Head of School Mark Davis made this statement to families:
“St. Luke’s is not and was never in negotiations with the Town of New Canaan or any cell tower provider to place a tower on our campus.

It is accurate that in April 2017 the Town requested to meet with St. Luke’s. They presented facts about the need for cell coverage and cited safety concerns. St. Luke’s expressed strong reservations about the use of our campus and the conversation ended.
It’s possible the false narrative that St. Luke’s was pursuing a cell tower on campus may pop up again. That’s why we wanted our families to have our complete reassurance that this is not—and never was— true.”
