St. Luke's Students Receive Top BC Calculus Scores

Stellar scores for Advanced Placement test

Twelve out of thirteen St. Luke’s students taking the BC Calculus Advanced Placement exams receive a 5—the highest grade (one student received a very respectable 4). The strong performance is particularly noteworthy given the difficulty of BC Calculus and its reputation as a confidence buster. “I’m proud of all our students and the exceptional teachers that helped them achieve this level of understanding and mastery,” said Head of School Liz Perry. “I’m thrilled that the three girls in the class were among those with top scores—basically blowing up the idea that calculus and, more broadly STEM curriculum, are not female friendly.” Perry also noted that 55% of St. Luke’s Class of 2017 will graduate with at least one AP-level math course.
