Stamford Man Accused Of Harassing New Canaan Victim: NC Police

The suspect allegedly went onto the victim's property several times uninvited, according to police.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 44-year-old Stamford man has been accused of allegedly harassing a New Canaan victim by repeatedly going onto the victim's property uninvited and leaving notes for the victim to contact him, according to New Canaan police.

Charles Herring, of Willowbrook Avenue, surrendered to New Canaan police on July 19 and was charged with second-degree harassment. The victim reported the incidents in January, and police subsequently obtained a warrant for Herring's arrest.

Additional details were not released, as New Canaan police said they would not disclose what was in the notes.

Herring was released after posting bond on bail of $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 2.
