New Canaan Storm Damage Update

All roads that were blocked by trees have been cleared, according to the New Canaan Office of Emergency Management.

There are still more than 20 roads that are partially blocked and five roads totally blocked due to a mix of trees and downed wires.

There are still 1,122 customers without power, according to Eversource.

“The substantial increase in reported outages is due to new damage to power lines in the Oenoke Lane and Dunning Road area,” said Mike Handler from the office. “Eversource is projecting substantial restoration by 11:30 pm tomorrow, February 26th.

Dan’s Highway, Frogtown Road, Weed Street, Indian Waters Drive and Hemlock Hill Road remained completely blocked and town workers are hoping to have it all cleared by 6 a.m.
