NEW CANAAN, CT — Police are investigating three recent burglaries that occurred in town.
A Gower Road residence was burglarized Dec. 10 between 9 a.m. and 8:20 p.m., police said. A side door was forced open and bedrooms were ransacked. Jewelry, passports and other items were taken. A small white pickup truck was seen in the driveway by a neighbor.
Another forced-entry burglary was reported around the same time on Rosebrook Road. It occurred sometime between 11 a.m. Dec. 10 and noon on Dec. 11. Jewelry was stolen.
The most recent burglary happened on Dec. 30 on Douglas Road at 5:15 p.m. A rear glass door was smashed. Bedrooms were ransacked and jewelry was taken. The surveillance system alerted the owner to motion in the house and the owner contacted police.
"Surveillance video captured the three Hispanic males ringing the front doorbell several times prior to forcing entry," said Lt. Jason Ferraro, police spokesman. "The males were speaking Spanish while inside the residence. There was also a silver or gray 4 door sedan that was captured on a neighbors camera around the time of the burglary."
