Tiering Parking Lots Could Help Alleviate Downtown New Canaan Parking Woes

The project could be paid off within a few years using parking revenue.

Tiering the Locust Avenue and Lumberyard parking lots could help alleviate parking woes in downtown New Canaan.

Town Hall is re-opening throughout the summer, which will only make the parking situation worse, according to the New Canaanite. To help solve that officials are proposing a cost-effective and minimally disruptive option of tiering the lots.

Parking generates more than $1.1 million annually for the town and reinvesting that money directly into parking improvements could pay off the proposal within three years.
