The three were found separately after they tried to hide, according to police.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Three Stamford teenagers were arrested on a host of charges in New Canaan Wednesday night after police said they were trying to break into several vehicles on Richmond Hill Road, Weed Street and Ash Tree Lane.

Officers were sent to the area at about 11 p.m. initially on a report of two suspects seen breaking into vehicles.

The first suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Kaymani Robinson, of Pleasant Street, was apprehended after officers found him hiding under a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home on Ash Tree Lane.

Robinson was charged with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, interfering with police and third-degree criminal trespass, and officers found a small amount of marijuana in his possession for which he also was charged.

According to New Canaan police, Robinson is currently on probation and was remanded to the custody of his parole officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

The second suspect, a 17-year-old whose identity was not released due to his age, was found moments later at the same Ash Tree Lane residence "lying on his back at the bottom of a culvert-type cement dugout adjacent to the house and the pool."

This suspect was issued a juvenile summons for the same charges and was released to a parent.

The third suspect was found in the woods at the same Ash Tree Lane home after police heard him yell for help. He told officers he had fallen and injured one of his knees, and he was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment. He, also, was issued a juvenile summons for the same charges and was later released to a parent.

"As a reminder the NCPD asks all residents to secure their vehicles at night," police said in a statement. "Do not leave cars unlocked and do not leave the keys to your vehicles inside the car. In addition please secure bicycles in garages as we have seen an increase in the thefts of bicycles from residences.

"All of these crimes are preventable, please do your part to protect your property and report any suspicious activity that you observe.
