Winter Sports Previews
Boys Swimming
Led by Coach Jason Paige the Rams finished last season with three losses and a third place finish in the FCIAC meet. They did not win the Class M state title for only the second time in the past eight years. This season they are led by senior co-captians Gabe Lane and Patrick Sweeney, Lane is a four-year letter winner and Sweeney was All-State in the 100 butterfly. Juniors Austin Wolff and John Santoro are Junior National qualifiers in USA Swimming. Wolff was the Class M State champion in the 100 butterfly while Santoro was a top six finisher at the Open Meet in the 200 IM.
The Rams will have to face tough competition in the beginning of the season as they face Greenwich and Westhill. These two teams defeated the Rams last year.
Gymnastics
Led by Coach Anne Tomaselli, the Rams finished last season with a 1-7 record. This season they will look to build on their one win from last season and try to achieve a high placing in the FCIAC meet.
They open the season on 1/10 when the face Nonnewaug, Pomperaug and Westhill in a tri-meet. Their first home meet will be 1/13 when they face Westhill and Lauralton Hall.
