Vehicle Damaged During Attempted Theft: New Canaan Police
Police said the vehicle, a Mazda CX5, sustained front end, right rear and left side damage during the attempted theft.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A vehicle was damaged during an attempted theft Saturday morning in New Canaan, according to police.
In a news release, Chief of Police Leon Krolikowski said the unlocked vehicle, a Mazda CX5, was parked in a driveway on Douglas Road at the time of the attempted theft. The vehicle's key fob had been left in the vehicle, Krolikowski said.
The theft was ultimately unsuccessful due to the Mazda being blocked in by other vehicles parked in the driveway, however the car sustained front end, right rear and left side damage, Krolikowski said. Another vehicle parked in the driveway also sustained damage to its left front area.
