2 Shooting Arrests Made In New Haven
Police arrested two people in two recent shooting incidents.
NEW HAVEN, CT — City police have made arrests in two weekend shooting incidents.
A 34-year-old man was found shot in his groin on Sept. 16. A witness gave police a good description of the assailant, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman. The gunshot victim rushed to aid a woman who was being robbed at gunpoint and was shot in the process.
The description of the assailant matched that of convicted felon Dwayne Green, 27, of New Haven, Hartman said.

Green was arrested with the help of adult probation and the New Haven Police Shooting Task Force on Tuesday. He was charged with first-degree assault, criminal possession of a pistol, first-degree robbery, carrying a pistol without a permit, second-degree larceny and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Police also made an arrest in a Sept. 15 shooting. Police were notified of the shooting that occurred on Franklin Street on Sept. 17. The victim was hit by a ricocheted bullet. Police learned that the victim and assailant were in a heated argument prior to the shooting, Hartman said.

Philip Swain Holmes Jr., 30, of West Haven was arrested. Holmes is currently on federal probation for firearm-related crimes.
Holmes was arrested Sept. 19 and charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a pistol or revolver.
