
NEW HAVEN, CT — Three New Haven schools will be closed next month after a vote by the Board of Education. Corlandt V.R. Creed magnet school along with alternative schools New Light and New Horizons are slated to be closed.
Superintendent Carol Birks estimates the district will save up to $5 million a year, according to the New Haven Independent.
The school system is dealing with a potential $14.35 million budget deficit minus the savings from closing the schools.
