NEW HAVEN, CT — Update: “This is now a homicide investigation,” police said late Monday afternoon. “The victim is a 21 year old male from Waterbury.”

New Haven police are investigating a Monday afternoon shooting in East Shore where three people were struck by gunfire, they posted on "X."

Initially, police said that an area of Woodward Avenue and Pope Street was the scene of a double shooting. They updated that around an hour later to note that there are three shooting victims. A police spokesperson told Patch the shooting occurred in Nathan Hale Gardens condo complex,

Police said in an update Monday that this is now a homicide investigation. The victim is a 21-year-old male from Waterbury.
