NEW HAVEN, CT — Police have identified the two people shot and killed in New Haven.
At 8:17 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 50 block of Judson Avenue on a report of several people shot.
Police found two people inside a black Honda sedan suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
They have been identified as Chavis Goldson, 19, of New Haven, and Lorenzo Freeman, 25, of West Haven, police said.
They were taken to the hospital, where both men died, police said.
"It appears they were targeted shortly after they arrived on Judson Avenue," police said.
Additionally, at a nearby Judson Avenue residence, a stray bullet struck the second-floor siding and traveled through a bedroom wall, which was occupied by two women, police said. One teen was initially believed to have been struck, police added.
She was taken to the hospital, where it was determined that her injuries were caused by debris and plaster from the wall, which grazed her head, police said. Her injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
