Annual New Haven PAL Golf Tournament

From The City of New Haven: The New Haven Police Department’s PAL (Police Activities League) Program is happy to announce its upcoming fundraiser golf tournament. The beautiful Race Brook Country Club in Orange will host this years event.

Proceeds will benefit the League which provides a variety of recreational and educational programs for New Haven’s youth including the popular month- long summer PAL Camp. Over the course of five weeks, children engage in a revolving schedule of academic enrichment, arts learning and fun physical fitness activities, including team based athletic tournaments and sports fundamentals instruction. Frequent field trips and special events add excitement to summer days and introduce campers to youth from other communities and cultural resources in and around the City. Participants in PAL’s many programs have benefitted from increased physical activity and engagement in the arts, decreased summer learning loss, and improved communication skills and self- esteem.

As is the case with PAL programs throughout the country, New Haven’s solicits funds, equipment and volunteer help from members of the community.

New Haven currently has 400 youngsters enrolled in their programs. Its most relied upon annual fundraising event is its Golf Tournament. The bulk of funding is private so that the cost to taxpayers is small – while the return is great.

The PAL Program, its officers and most importantly, its kids are asking for your help. Sponsorships, golfers of all skill levels and spectators are wanted.
