NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at Liberty Bank on College Street Jan. 2.

A white or Hispanic man entered the bank and demanded cash from tellers shortly before 9 a.m., said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman. The robber didn't wield, display or mention a weapon.

The robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. He is described by police as being about 5'6'' with dark colored hair. He wore a rust-colored hooded coat.

"The hood was up and over a checkered black, grey and white scarf and mask that covered most of his face," Hartman said. "He wore lighter tan pants and tan work boots (Timberland® or similar style). He wore dark framed un-tinted glasses. It is uncertain, but possible the crook has a tattoo on the back of his right hand (If it exists, it would be visible below the wrist)."
