Bicyclist Trying To Help A Motorist In New Haven Shot: PD
On Chapel between Ferry & Poplar, while helping a "motorist, another driver began to argue with him and then shot him," NHPD Capt. said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Just before noon Tuesday, the New Haven Police Department received a report of a gunshot victim who walked into the emergency room at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Capt. Rose Dell said. He's reported to be in stable condition, she said.
The victim reported that he was riding his bicycle in the area of Chapel Street between Ferry and Poplar streets when he stopped to help a motorist who appeared to be asleep at the wheel, Dell said.
"While assisting the motorist, another driver began to argue with him and then shot him," Dell said.

Detectives from the department’s Major Crimes Unit and Bureau of Identification quickly responded to the scene to search for any potential leads, police said.
"They collected evidence, searched for video surveillance, and witnesses who may have heard or seen anything," Dell said, adding, "One witness may have heard a gunshot, but there was no ShotSpotter activation or crime scene located."
