Cops Investigate Weekend Shooting Where Person, Home Struck By Bullets

In West Hills Saturday night, multiple shots rang out, with 1 wounded, and a front door of an East Ramsdell St.-area home struck by bullets.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Saturday night, multiple shots rang out on East Ramsdell Street in the West Hills neighborhood, police said. Around 9:30 p.m., ShotSpotter technology was activated after three rounds of gunfire were detected, police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell said. Cops originally thought the shooting took place in Hamden, she said.

At around 10 p.m., cops were told by Yale New Haven Hospital that a gunshot victim had been brought to the emergency room for treatment, she said. They suffered a non-life threatening wound, according to Dell. And, evidence shows that the bullets also struck the front door of one of the homes nearby, she said.

According to police, detectives canvassed the surrounding neighborhood, but no video surveillance or witnesses of the shooting were found.
