Coronavirus New Haven: Nathan Hale To Close After Suspected Case

Nathan Hale School will close due to an adult having a suspected case of new coronavirus. The adult had limited contact with the school.

NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven Public Schools announced that Nathan Hale School will close March 12 and 13 after an adult suspected of having new coronavirus was in limited contact with the school facility and a student under their care who attended school.

The affected family is being asked to self-isolate.

"At this juncture, the City believes there is a low risk to students and are not recommending that Nathan Hale students or families self-isolate," said Gage Frank, spokesman for the school district. "The City and New Haven Public Schools want to aggressively reduce the chance of COVID-19, and will make a determination on when they will reopen the school. The New Haven Public Schools will notify parents on this reopening."
