Demolition Begins At Church Street South In New Haven
The decrepit apartment complex for low income residents is being knocked down.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Demolition at the decrepit Church Street South housing complex has begun. The buildings had 301 apartments for low-income residents.
The demolition work could take two years to complete, according to the New Haven Register.
Plans are in place to build 700 and 100 housing units in a partnership between the city and Church Street South owner Northland Investment Corp.

The property is located across the street from the Union Train Station.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development along with city inspectors cited bad conditions for residents at Church Street South.
