Detectives Investigating Overnight Shooting On Henry Street: Police

A "small blood trail from the sidewalk" of Henry St. to Dixwell Ave. was found, and a gunshot victim walked into St. Raphael ER, police said

NEW HAVEN, CT — It was just after 2 a.m., Monday when cops got a ShotSpotter notification of five rounds fired in the 100-block of Henry Street, police said. When New Haven police patrol officers got there, they found five fired cartridge casings in the middle of the road at the intersection of Henry and Townsend streets, spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell said.

Dell noted that cops also found a "small blood trail" that went from the sidewalk of Henry Street to Dixwell Avenue and ended at the rear of 300 Dixwell Ave. She said police dispatch later were called by Yale-New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael’s Campus of a walk-in gunshot victim whose injuries were non-life threatening.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and the Bureau of Identification responded to the
scene to collect evidence and canvass the area for witnesses and video surveillance.
