Dirt Biker Seriously Injured in New Haven Crash
The dirt biker crossed the double yellow line and ran into a vehicle that was turning left.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man who has ridden dirt bikes on the streets of New Haven for years is struggling to regain brain function after a serious crash.
Leron Stone was riding a dirt bike Grand Avenue June 10 and crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic shortly before a car made a left turn to park in a parking spot, according to the New Haven Independent.
The graphic crash was caught on video. Stone, who wasn't wearing a helmet flew off the bike and sustained a serious head injury and needs facial reconstruction.

Stone was arrested in 2013 after he spat at a reverend who was taking his picture. He was later arrested the same year after New Haven Police conducted "Operation Bike Life" that resulted in a number of arrests for dirt bike riders.
The city has struggled for years with dirt bike riders. Dirt bikes which lack turn signals and other traffic safety equipment aren't allowed on city streets. Riders often ride in large groups recklessly through streets and sometimes highways and often film stunts.
