Dozens Of Shots Fired Sunday Night Left 1 With Gunshot Wounds: Police

It was just after 11 p.m., at Sherman Parkway and Bassett Street when numerous shots were fired with one hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

NEW HAVEN, CT —Police are investigating a late night Sunday shooting that sent one to the hospital with gunshot wounds, police said.

It was around 11:15 pm, when police got a ShotSpotter notification of 23 gunshots in the area of Sherman Parkway and Bassett Street, according to New Haven police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell.

Dell said when cops arrived, they set up a one-block crime scene and found multiple spent shell
casings at the location. Then police learned that a gunshot victim was driven to the Saint Raphael campus of Yale New Haven Hospital in a silver four-door sedan, she said, adding the person is currently in stable condition.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and the Bureau of Identification found around 45 spent shell casings, Dell said, adding a canvas was done searching for witnesses and video evidence.
