DUI Driver Kills Motorcyclist: New Haven PD
The car vs. motorcycle crash left the motorcyclist dead. An angry crowd surrounded the driver at fault, according to police.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A West Haven motorcyclist was killed when a car hit him near Whalley and Ellsworth Avenues June 29.
Victim Bobby Sunshine Pinkston, 37, was rushed to the hospital, but died from his injuries, according Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
Video from a passing motorist's vehicle showed a Nissan Maxima turning left onto Whalley form Elsworth. The crash itself wasn't caught on camera, but the Nissan operator is seen speeding off after the crash, Hartman said.

A witness spotted the driver on Argonne Street and confronted him about his involvement in the crash. The driver took off running to a nearby apartment as the witness pulled out his phone to call police.
Two men told police that a distraught man ran from the Nissan into the apartment building. They offered to call 911 and he said, "I'm okay, I need to call my wife, I hit a bike, I hit a bike," according to Hartman.

An angry crowd gathered around driver Luisa Lala, 18, of New Haven and police took him into custody. He is charged with evading responsibility involving the death of a person, negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle without a license, DUI and improper turn.
