Electronic Income Tax Returns Suspended for Three CT Tax Preparers

The state Department of Revenue Services has suspended processing electronic income tax returns from three tax preparers in the state following a high volume of questionable returns.

The businesses affected by the action are:

• Liberty Tax Service, 1003 East Main Street, East Hartford, CT 06108
• Perfect Preparer, LLC, 58 Main Street, Ansonia, CT 06401
• Perfect Preparer, LLC, 206 Dixwell Avenue, Suite 2, New Haven, CT 06511

Free assistance in completing state tax returns is available from DRS by calling 860-297-5962 or in person at regional walk-in centers in Bridgeport, Hartford, Norwich and Waterbury. Free tax assistanceis also available with the federal return.

DRS encourages people to report individuals or companies that aren't complying with tax law.
