Elicker, City Officials To Check Businesses For Mask Compliance
The city's indoor mask mandate has been in place since Aug. 8.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The city announced that Mayor Justin Elicker and New Haven Health Director Maritza Bond will be checking Tuesday to see if downtown businesses are complying with the city's indoor mask mandate, in place since last August.
Elicker, Bond and representatives from the offices of the Fire Marshall and Building Department will begin the canvass Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., at the corner of Broadway and York. Both Elicker and Bond are expected to "give brief remarks" before setting off.
"With the final rush for holiday shopping underway, tomorrow’s canvass will be a reminder of the importance of masking in order to protect each other," an advisory from the mayor's office reads.
