Effective Tuesday, the busy bridge between River Street and Fairmont Avenue is closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic: Mayor Elicker
NEW HAVEN, CT — The Ferry Street Bridge between River Street and Fairmont Avenue is closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from River Street to Fairmont Avenue until further notice, Mayor Justin Elicker said in a message to residents.
Elicker said that the closure is "due to mechanical issues that need to be addressed." He set no timeline for when the busy bridge would be reopened.
"At this point, we do not have a timeline for the bridge to reopen, but are working as quickly as we can to address the issue," he said.
