Update: Girl, 13, Hit In Pre-Dawn Drive-By Shootout Near Hospital: PD
It was just before 3 a.m., when shots rang out near Yale New Haven Hospital, one striking a girl who had non-life-threatening injures: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Investigators provided new information in the shooting of a 13-year-old girl outside Yale New Haven Children's Hospital overnight Sunday, police said.
According to police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell, it was around 2:50 a.m, when cops got a ShotSpotter notification of six rounds fired in the area of 103 Davenport Ave.
Initially, it was thought that the girl was shot in the lot of the hospital. Dell said investigators now believe that not only was the shooting "not a deliberate attack on the hospital or
its personnel," it was instead the result of a drive-by shootout.

Dell said video surveillance footage revealed that two vehicles were chasing each other near Howard Avenue and Park Street. One of the vehicles fired shots at the other, hitting the girl, a passenger in the process police said. She was then dropped off at Yale's children's hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries, Dell said, adding the teen has since been released from the hospital.
Police have recovered the stolen vehicles involved in the incident, a silver Kia SUV and a black Hyundai Elantra, which were found abandoned near Asylum Street and Sylvan Avenue.
