Hamden Man Injured In Shooting in New Haven

The New Haven Police Department seeks information regarding a shooting that injured a Hamden Man Early Saturday Morning.

NEW HAVEN — Police are investigating an early morning shooting in New Haven that sent one victim from Hamden to the hospital.

According to the New Haven Police Department, at about 1:10 a.m., police received a call from Yale New Haven Hospital regarding a person shot who was dropped off at the hospital by a private vehicle.

Responding officers met with the victim, a 29-year-old Hamden man, who was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned the incident occurred on Whalley Avenue, between Davis Street and Anthony Street in New Haven.

The department's bureau of identification responded to the scene and collected ballistic evidence and detectives from the major crimes unit are leading the investigation.
