The situation was contained Monday afternoon.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Gateway Community College has reopened following a Hazmat incident Monday. The incident turned out to be a false alarm.
A white powdery substance was found at the college and a floor was shut down, according to the Hartford Courant. There appears to be no threat to the public.
The powder was found in an envelope and six people came into contact with it. They were decontaminated as a precaution, according to WTNH. The powder was later determined to be harmless.
