New Haven Register Evacuated Wednesday After Suspicious Mail Substance Found: Update
The building was evacuated during the afternoon. The substance was determined not to be hazardous.

NEW HAVEN, CT—The New Haven Register building was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a suspicious letter arrived in the mail.
Some employees were evaluated for possible exposure to the substance, according to the New Haven Register. The letter was sent to the first floor business offices.
The substance was later determined not to be hazardous.

The building is located on Gando Drive in New Haven.
The FBI, New Haven Fire Department and other officials are on scene, according to NBC Connecticut.

It is not known if the United States Postal Service or another carrier delivered the letter, according to Fox 61.
