Jury Convicts New Haven Man, 45, Of 2017 Rape: State’s Attorney

Maurice Brown will be sentenced in May for the rape of a woman he drugged, according to evidence introduced at trial, prosecutors said.

NEW HAVEN, CT —A Superior Court jury found Maurice Brown, 45, of New Haven, guilty of first degree sexual assault and third-degree sexual assault Monday, according to the State's Attorney.

According to evidence introduced at trial, Brown sexually assaulted the woman after drugging her, rendering her unconscious in May 2017.

The case was investigated by the New Haven Police Department and was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Kelly Davis and Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Alexander C. Beck, who were assisted by Special Inspector Michael Pendleton.
