NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven Superior Court jury found Treyvon Battle, 35, of New Haven, guilty of murder and first-degree assault in a 2017 shooting, State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced last week.

Battle was also convicted of criminal possession of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit, Doyle said.

Doyle said that, according to evidence introduced at trial, on May 27, 2017, Battle, then 26, shot two men, Garian Suggs, 26, and Norman Boone, 27, on Dickerman Street in New Haven. Suggs suffered a gunshot wound to the neck from which he recovered, and Boone, taken to New Haven Hospital for treatment, succumbed to his injuries, the State's Attorney noted.
