Man Allegedly Insults Infant, Stabs Man: New Haven PD
The adult victim was slashed across the face, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A city man was arrested after he slashed a victim across the face, according to police.
Police were dispatched to 300 Ferry Street around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 on a stabbing report. They arrived in time to apprehend the suspect, who tried to run away, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
The 51-year-old victim was walking with an acquaintance and her infant child when Marcus Desire, 27, allegedly made an unfavorable comment about the child. The victim told Desire to watch his mouth and an argument ensued.

Desire then pulled a pocket knife and slashed the victim. Multiple witnesses confirmed the account, Hartman said. To sign up for New Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.
Desire was charged with first-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree breach of peace and refusing to be fingerprinted.

The victim's injury is non-life threatening.
