Man Critical After Drug Dispute: New Haven PD

The man sustained life-threatening injuries to his head and neck.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A drug deal gone bad left a 60-year-old man in critical condition Sunday, according to police.

Witnesses told police a man in a dark colored sedan was seen giving a small bag of drugs to the victim on Chapel Street, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman. The victim then took off running the the assailant beat him up.

The victim then grabbed onto the assailant's vehicle and said something to the effect of, "give me back my drugs," before he fell and hit his head.

The victim sustained life-threatening injuries to his head and neck and his prognosis isn't good, Hartman said.
