Man Shot, Critically Wounded On Dixwell Avenue Wednesday Night: Police
Police are investigating the 6:30 p.m. shooting on Dixwell Ave. near West Hazel St., where a male gunshot victim was critically injured.

NEW HAVEN, CT —A Dixwell Avenue shooting Wednesday night left a gunshot victim in critical condition, police said.
At around 6:30 p.m., police were called to Dixwell Avenue near West Hazel Street for the reported shooting, according to New Haven police Capt. Rose Dell. The man who was shot was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and, as of Thursday morning, was listed in critical condition, Dell said.
Detectives from the department’s Major Crimes Division as well as the Bureau of Identification are on-scene collecting evidence and canvassing for witnesses and video surveillance.
